The Banded Peak Ranch is a 17,500 acre
ranch, ringed by twelve thousand foot peaks. The terrain ranges from giant valley
floor parks, golden aspen forests and fir-clad mountain slopes
to
alpine tundra.

Numerous headwater streams
create waterfalls
and mountain ponds, and form the Navajo River. Throughout the
ranch you will be treated to breathtaking vistas of one of the
most beautiful valleys in the Rocky Mountains.

The combination of forest and meadow, aspen
and pine cover, river and stream create a habitat
that is perfect for elk.

Protected from external hunting pressure, the
ranch has become a haven to its large herd of
over 3000 wild animals.

In the spring, the elk return in mass from their
winter grazing lands. Calves are born and the
bulls form bachelor herds.

The
ranch is unfenced and the elk are completely
wild. The ranch works hard to protect and preserve
its magnificent herd.

Significant
resources are applied every year to keep
out poachers.

The
forests and wildlife are
managed in consultation
the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
